President John Dramani Mahama delivered a heartfelt address to congregants at the Light House Chapel International during the Good Friday service at Independence Square, urging Ghanaians to unite and persevere in the face of national challenges.

In his speech, President Mahama encouraged the worshippers to rise above societal divisions and reaffirm their commitment to each other, echoing a message of hope and collective responsibility.

His remarks came during a service that marked the significant Christian observance of Good Friday, a day symbolising sacrifice and redemption.

President Mahama's speech was a call for national cohesion, as the President asked Ghanaians to refocus on the collective good of the nation, rather than allowing existing differences to define the country's future.

"Let us rise above our differences," he urged, "Let us renew our commitment to one another. Let us build a nation that is defined not by challenges but by its courage to overcome."

Drawing on spiritual inspiration, President Mahama referenced a passage from the Bible to reinforce his point, quoting from the book of Galatians, Chapter 6, verse 9: “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

He emphasised the importance of maintaining a spirit of perseverance, even when the road ahead seems difficult or uncertain.

"Do not grow weary of doing good," President Mahama told the congregation, "because at the appropriate time, you will reap the harvest for the good that you have done."

The scripture he cited, Mahama suggested, was not only a spiritual teaching but also a guiding principle for national development.

"In life, as in nation-building, there will be times when the journey seems hard, but we must not give up on doing good," he continued. "Our efforts, no matter how small, contribute to the greater good of our country."

From inflation and rising costs of living to the uncertainty of global economic trends, Mahama’s words served as a source of encouragement, urging citizens to remain steadfast and hopeful in the pursuit of a better future.

President Mahama’s address was not just an appeal for personal perseverance but also a call to action for national transformation.

He reminded the audience that building a better Ghana is a shared responsibility that requires the participation of all Ghanaians, regardless of background.

“Let us not allow our differences to divide us,” President Mahama urged. “Let us, as one people, focus on the common goal of creating a nation that is prosperous, peaceful, and united.”

He underscored that the challenges facing the country should not overshadow its potential, adding that the courage to overcome obstacles would ultimately define Ghana’s future.

President Mahama reinforced the idea that Ghana’s future depends on the collective will of its people. His message was one of hope, urging the nation to look beyond present difficulties and work towards a shared vision of peace, prosperity, and unity.
