Ghana veteran Andre Ayew could be set for a dramatic return to the Black Stars fold after Mohammed Kudus suffered a significant injury setback that threatens his availability for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed on Thursday that the 25-year-old midfielder has suffered a setback in his recovery from a quad injury sustained in January and will now require further specialist review and potentially surgery.

The news has cast serious doubt over Kudus's participation in the World Cup, with just over two months until Ghana's opener against Panama on June 17.
