Frank Ronstadt sees red as Viktoria KÃ¶ln edge Wehen Wiesbaden

German-Ghanaian midfielder Frank Ronstadt endured a mixed afternoon as he was sent off in Viktoria KÃ¶ln 1904’s hard-fought 2-1 home win over Wehen Wiesbaden in 3. Liga.

Introduced from the bench midway through the first half, Ronstadt’s dismissal on 63 minutes left Viktoria to protect a narrow lead with ten men.

By then, the hosts were already in control thanks to a quickfire brace from Lucas Wolf, who struck first on 41 minutes from a David Otto assist before adding a second just before the interval.

The red card breathed life into Wehen and set up a tense finale, especially after Moritz Flotho coolly converted a 71st-minute penalty to halve the deficit. Viktoria dug deep in the closing stages, with their back five repelling a succession of crosses and set-pieces as Wehen pushed for an equaliser.

The result keeps Viktoria’s late-season momentum going after recent impressive away wins at Ingolstadt and Hansa Rostock. Next up, they travel to face SC Verl on Saturday 18 April, where Ronstadt will be suspended but his teammates will look to extend their climb up the table.
