The Nigerian Navy has rescued a kidnap victim, Mr Benedict Eze.

The rescue happened in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The operation was carried out by personnel of Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bonny.

Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho made this known in a statement.

He is the Director of Naval Information.

The victim was abducted on March 23, 2026.

This happened at Aganya Community.

The Navy rescued him at Coconut Jetty.

His kidnappers abandoned him there.

The kidnappers left him at Opuoma waterside.

This was due to mounting pressure from naval operations.

Folorunsho said the rescue followed intensified patrols.

These were intelligence-led operations.

Security actions were coordinated after the incident was reported.

The Navy deployed sustained patrols.

They used technological surveillance.

They coordinated land and creek operations.

This was to cut off escape routes for the kidnappers.

The sustained action mounted by security forces during the search efforts eventually paid off with the abandonment of the kidnap victim.

The rescued victim was taken to the naval base medical facility.

He received medical evaluation there.

He was also debriefed.

After that, he was reunited with his family safely.

The Navy said this operation showed effectiveness.

This was for coordinated maritime security measures.

These were land-based security measures too.

They work with other security agencies.

The aim is to deny criminals freedom of movement.

This is within Bonny–Port Harcourt waterways.

It includes adjoining creeks.

The operation followed a directive from the Chief of the Naval Staff.

Vice Admiral Idi Abbas gave this directive.

It was to intensify efforts against criminal activities.

This is within Nigeria's maritime domain.

The Navy reaffirmed its commitment.

They will sustain proactive patrols.

They will use intelligence-driven operations.

The goal is to improve security.

They want to protect lives and property.
